I am excited to once again welcome Joe Teixeira of Namaste Imports to back to Milwaukee for the 4th year! This informative and inspiring weekend will consist of sound baths, various workshops on Tibetan singing bowls & sound healing, and a chance to purchase exclusive antique Tibetan Singing Bowls & other Nepali swag from Joe's private collection. And this year, we have dedicated one full day to private appointments with Joe, where you can receive his undivided attention to help you develop and improve your singing bowl collection, or spend quality time picking out your first bowl (or 5 😉)!
Please note that Joe will NOT be vending at Summerfest this year, so if you want to purchase from him in person, this will be your ONLY chance this year!

About your hosts:
Joe Teixeira
has over 25 years experience with Tibetan singing bowls. He started Namaste Imports in 1997, specializing in the import of Tibetan Singing Bowls and over the years he has amassed one of the largest collections of singing bowls in the country.
Joe's business is 100% referral based, selling his bowls in person only (no website!). Joe has traveled extensively to India & Nepal every November since 1997 and continues to do so (with the exception of covid) to make his purchases for the following season. He spends hundreds of hours sorting through bowls, picking only the best to sell to his customers with a 95% rejection rate.
Laurel Ziemienski
is a Sound Practitioner, Cacao Facilitator, Reiki Master Practitioner, Energy Worker, Educator, Meditation Guide and Retreat Organizer & Host.
She owns Ananda Healing Arts and offers private Sound Healing sessions out of her studio in Milwaukee as well as group sound baths, cacao ceremonies, local retreats and other events at various venues throughout the Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha areas. She also organizes and hosts international retreats. Laurel is currently working towards her diploma in Holistic Nutrition, specializing in plants as medicine.

Friday night: 6:00-8:30pm
Transcendent Tones: A Journey of Transformation through Sound
Experience the ancient sounds of Tibetan singing bowls as Joe Teixeira and Laurel Ziemienski perform a transformative sound bath experience. During this incredible evening, attendees will be surrounded by powerful healing vibrations that will take them to places of deep rest, reflection and a sense of renewal. With a combined 30 years of singing bowl experience, this event is sure to leave you feeling balanced and restored, with an enhanced sense of well being. After the bath Joe will have an exclusive collection of antique Tibetan singing bowls available to purchase for bath attendees only that will not be available for the rest of the weekend.
Saturday: 9am-5:00pm
Saturday will be packed full of informative workshops, designed more for beginner to intermediate but all levels will learn something today! Plus there will be plenty of time to buy as many antique singing bowls & Nepali swag as your heart desires! Joe personally travels to India & Nepal at least once a year to hand pick these special bowls. This is a shopping experience you will not be able to find anywhere else.
Saturday Morning
9am-9:45am: Bowl Sales
10-11:45am Joe will spend the morning teaching students the basics of Tibetan singing bowls. Guests will learn:
How to prepare oneself to play intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, physically
The three aspects of spinning the bowl (pressure, angle, speed) and how to use these aspects in the learning process.
How to hold the wand/mallet and what to avoid. How to tap the bowl
Spinning a bowl with both the leather and wooden side of the mallet
Why do some bowls play better with the wooden side and others with the leather side? And why do some bowls play better than others in general?
How to choose a bowl and what to look for

Saturday Afternoon
1-2:00pm How to Create a Sound Bath: Learn the basics of hosting and playing a sound bath for others including set up, playing your instruments, using intuition as your guide, how to create a story with sound, the importance of silence, and more!
Guests will learn:
How to use Tibetan singing bowls in a sound bath
How to choose the right setting and location for the best experience for your guests
How to use intuition and energy during the bath to amplify the experience
How to help your guests relax into their experience, improving their ability to heal
2-4:00pm Learn How to Play Fearlessly. We will gather as a group and Joe & Laurel will guide students in how to play their instruments freely, without fear and constraints of modern, western music ideology. This will be a supportive group as we will all observe and learn from each other, the best way to learn! We will understand how to play our instruments in a group setting, and what it means to “go with the flow” and play from a place of the heart and intuition.
NOTE: Students are welcome to bring their bowls from home so we can create a more rounded, dynamic experience.
It is not required to bring or purchase your own bowls for this class, Joe will have plenty available for everyone to borrow if needed
4-5:00pm Bowl Sales
Sunday: 9:00am -2:00pm
Sunday’s format has changed this year. So many of you are interested in seeking Joe’s help in building a quality, beautiful sounding singing bowl collection. And every year we try to squeeze in his advice between classes, during lunch, etc. This year we decided to dedicate an entire day just for this purpose!
Students and guests can schedule a 30, 45 or 60 minute private consultation with Joe. During this time you will receive his undivided attention. If you have an existing collection, bring it with! He will explore what you already own and will help you fill in the gaps or find replacements for those scratchy bowls that don’t quite fit. And if this is your first time purchasing, he will help you find the perfect 1 or 10 bowls to begin your collection. You will have access to Joe’s entire collection of singing bowls to pick from, that’s over 200 options!
This is a unique opportunity never before made available to the public. I don’t know of any other vendor in the US that can provide this kind of service in person. Purchasing bowls online is great, but the best is when you can hear the bowl play right in front of you, feel it in your hands, feel the vibrations, hear it’s subtleties, tune into the energy of the bowl. That is what you will receive with this experience.

There will be an optional selection of boxed lunches available on Saturday with salads and sandwiches, vegan and meat, by Anne Wegner LeFort from EatMoveMke, a local holistic private Chef. Please indicate at check out any special requests or food restrictions needed. If you do not order lunch, you will need to bring your own as there are no restaurants nearby to order from. Cancellations: We reserve the right to cancel the event one week (7 days) prior to the event if the minimum number of tickets have not been sold by that date. In the event of cancellation, full refunds will be issued. In the event the workshops are cancelled due any illness or unforseen event to the presenter/s, a full refund will be issued.
Refund Policy: If a registrant withdraws from the event in writing at least 10 days prior to the event, they will receive a refund minus a 25% non-refundable, nontransferable cancellation fee. There are NO refunds for cancellations received less than 10 days prior to the workshop or class.
